Google AdWords Basics

Google Adwords offers Internet marketers a great advertising vehicle that delivers real results quickly. But if you don't know what you are doing, Google Adwords can cost you a great deal of money, while producing little or no results. AdWords experts spend a lot of time and money advertising with Google Adwords because they get such great results. You can too, just make sure you spend the necessary time and learn the successful techniques first.   Because AdWords is so easy, too many people make the mistake of quickly starting a campaign without having all the knowledge they need to make a successful go of it.  The fact that you are reading this article shows you are ready to learn what it takes.  Soon you will be making money with your own AdWords campaigns.

Google Adwords is a source for Pay Per Click advertising. It is often called a pay per click search engine, but it actually isn't. While Google is indeed a search engine, Google Adwords is not pay per click search engine advertising. In pay per click search engines, your listing appears in the search results when your keywords are searched for. The more you bid for the keyword, the higher your listing is.

However, in Google Adwords, your listing - or ad - does not appear in the search results for the keywords you bid on. Instead, it appears on the right hand side of the search results page - separate from the search results.  Because of Google’s immense popularity, this prominent placement of ads is working very well for the people who know how to write pay per click ads that generate sales.  These listings also show on the Google Search Network, which includes America Online, Ask Jeeves, EarthLink, AT&T and Yahoo Japan.
