There may come a time when you simply need help with your Google AdWords account or campaigns. Realizing that you have a problem and you need help is easy enough, but figuring out how to get Google AdWords support in a timely manner is another ballgame altogether! Here is a little advice.
First, you can seek help at the AdWords Help Center. First, you can click the radio button next to the text that best describes your problem, hit the next button, fill out the form, and watch your email for a reply. Unfortunately, what most advertisers find is that they will be waiting a very long time for that reply to come in!
The best advice is not to wait. First, go back and hit that help button again, and this time, instead of sending in the form for support, use the other features on that little page. Use the search box to search for answers to your AdWords questions. If you still can’t find your answers, look further on that help page, and visit the AdWords Help discussion group. This group is made up of other AdWords users, and they can usually answer your question faster – and in some cases more accurately – than anyone at Google can!
If you fail to find the answer in the forum, your next option is to call Google directly. First you should note that if you need help on the weekends or after business hours, you won’t be talking to anyone. You must call during the week, and during business hours.
The number to call is 650-623-4000. That is Google’s main phone number. However, the direct toll free number for AdWords is 866-246-6453 or 866-2-Google. If you can’t get through on one number, try the other one. If you live outside of the United States, dial 0011 + 1 + 866-246-6453.
When you get someone on the telephone – and if you call during their business hours, you will get someone on the telephone – it is important that you talk to the representative in the right way, in order to get the help you need. Screaming and yelling won’t get you the help you need. Rudeness won’t work. Anger will only raise your blood pressure – none of this will help you solve your problem.
Be pleasant, and the representative will do everything within their power to help you. If the representative isn’t answering your question in a way that helps you, very nicely ask to speak to someone else. If you are not directed to someone else, thank them for their time, hang up, and call back – the chances are good that you will get a different representative on the phone. Tell them that you just got off the phone with another rep, but that your problem still is not taken care of – again, be extremely nice, and you will get the help that you need.
Long after your problem has been solved, you can expect an email from Google support. It may even actually answer your original question. Just remember that if you need to know how to get Google AdWords support in a timely manner, email is an option that Google offers, but it isn’t a very good option if you need an answer anytime soon! Call them instead, or look for your answer elsewhere.
