Click throughs are important, because this is where your Google AdSense income comes from. If your visitors don't click on the ads, you don't make Google AdSense income. Google AdSense isn't for everyone. If your website is selling one specific product or service, you probably don't want AdSense competing against it for your visitors eyes.
